You may be wondering why you get notifications of new Medium subscribers, subscribing to get your Medium stories via email. But when you look at your Medium subscribers list, you do not find them showing up on your list. We were wondering the same thing.
Because we also receive many notifications, but then the Medium subscribers do not show in our list. So, we decided to do a bit of research and remedy this Medium subscribers not showing in our list and contacted Medium support.

Quite convinced we are not the only ones wondering about these new Medium subscribers who don’t show. We decided to investigate and remedy this as mentioned earlier, so we reached out to Medium support. Because we couldn’t find anything explaining this concern.
Or perhaps we just missed it, either way, we just had to contact Medium support about this new Medium subscribers “issue”. Besides, Medium support is always rather prompt (within a day or so), and always really helpful. Medium support has answered many of our questions.
With a single response from Medium support, the problem was solved, and we also learned something new. As can be seen illustrated below, a screenshot of our correspondence with Medium support.
It is but a single Medium email setting that will remedy this. But we will get to that in a bit. It is actually really easy to rectify this “problem”, just by activating your email notifications by ensuring it is not turned off.
Just in case, you might want to check on your Medium email settings. Perhaps you have subscribed to one of your favourite Medium writers. But you are not receiving notifications when they publish fresh Medium content.

Solution for Medium subscribers not showing.
Simply click on your Medium profile image in the top right-hand side corner of your profile home page. From the drop-down menu, go to “Settings”. A new page will open, where you want to click on “Notifications”.
You should be on a page resembling the illustration below. Scrolling down will give you several notification choices. Personally, we have all the blocks checked. Because we don’t want to miss anything on Medium.
Just be sure that your Medium email settings are not turned off. The “Medium Digest”, and “Social Activity” under “When someone mentions you in their story” appear to be the only two places where you can “turn notifications off”.
But just to be 100% sure, we checked all our Medium email notification boxes and options (green box with white arrow). All our subscription notifications, along with all other Medium email notifications work just fine now.

A simple Medium email setting is all it takes to remedy this “problem”. If you follow along, you will have this rectified in just a few minutes. Under your “Audience Stats” once this setting is done.
You should be able to see your new Medium subscribers showing up. And it comes down to just a few simple steps as listed below. Only three steps, actually. It really is that simple!

Ensure Email Notifications Are Switched On.
